1. What is an SR22, and why do I need one?
An SR22 is a State Required filing or affidavit, when there has
been a DUI, that provides proof that you have and will maintain continuous
Insurance. It is filed through your insurance company directly to the BMV
(BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES), and normally must be maintained continuously
for 3 years without lapse.

2. What is an SR50?
An SR50 filing is a State required filing providing proof of
Current Insurance. An SR50 filing is required to get your license back
after you have had a suspension for driving without insurance due to a ticket or
minor violation.

3. What is a non-owners policy?
A Non-Owners policy allows you to take out an
insurance policy when you do not own a vehicle, so you can get your license
reinstated with either an SR22 or SR50 filing.

4. What happens if I have an SR22 filing and my insurance policy
lapses or cancels?
If you have an SR22 filing and your policy lapses or cancels, the
BMV will suspend your License all over again.

5. Is an SR22 required just for Alcohol related violations?
An SR22 may be required in cases where there has been an accident
without insurance, and also in cases where the suspension was due to a violation
for driving while under the influence of drugs.

6. What happens if I am caught driving without
insurance?
Indiana is a mandatory insurance state, Insurance is required by
Law. If you are caught or ticketed for driving with out insurance, you will lose
your license for 90 days, and will have to pay fines from $150.00 to $300.00.
You will need an SR50 filing to get your License back.
