HARTKE INSURANCE was
originally started by my Father, C.W.Hartke in 1948. I can remember my father
telling me that he started the agency selling Fire Insurance Policies in the winter time
going door to door, huddling around the old coal furnaces to keep warm,
and talking about what might happen if some of the coal embers would start the
rug on fire, or what could happen if the furnace would get too hot while everyone was
sleeping, and cause a chimney
fire. A typical policy might cost $12.00 /year.
A lot has changed thru the
years but in some ways they have stayed the same. Our goal is still to provide the
best price and service we can for the coverage you choose. You will notice we
say for the coverage YOU choose. We want everyone to have the best
coverage they can afford , but we also realize that not everyone's budget
and individual circumstances are the same. And although door to
door selling is not accepted anymore, we hope, with our internet insurance quotations and sales, to
come into your homes electronically.
Over the years we have come to
specialize primarily in auto insurance (Although we still write other lines too).
Our theme is "Great Auto Rates" for all drivers,
Ultra-Preferred, Preferred, Standard, and High Risk.
We realize that we will not be
able to help everyone, but in many cases we can, and by shopping for you we hope
to cut down on our customer's frustration and wasted time. In other words we
hope to be able to make placing your insurance with our agency as quick and
as painless an experience as possible.
A little about or Staff:
Our agency is composed of a total of 6 people: myself, Dale. Hartke, my wife,
Karen Hartke, Mary B., Jeanie, Mary A,
and Robin. With the changing technology we are always learning
but together we also have over 60 years combined experience.
The other thing that has never
changed is that we operate as a small family owned business, where we each help
each other, and still care about our customers, this itself is very rare in
today's world and we are certainly blessed to have the people we have working
here.
